Volunteer Recognition: How to Choose the Right Trophy or Plaque

Every year, thousands of sports, community, and cultural organizations across Quebec rely on dedicated volunteers. These individuals give their time without expecting anything in return. Yet a thoughtful recognition gesture can make all the difference — for them, and for your organization's culture. The first question to ask yourself is: what message do you want to send? A trophy works perfectly in sports or competitive contexts, where the volunteer played a central role in organizing a tournament or season. An engraved plaque, on the other hand, is ideal for acknowledging long-term commitment, years of service, or a leadership role on a committee. For an annual event with several volunteers to honor, personalized medals are an economical and elegant solution. They can be produced in large quantities while remaining distinctive through laser engraving or color printing. Each medal can feature the volunteer's name, the year, and your organization's logo. If you're looking for something more understated and functional, consider acrylic or brushed aluminum plaques. Lightweight, durable, and easy to customize, they display well in a home office or community hall. A volunteer who receives a plaque with their name on it is proud to show it off — and that extends your message of gratitude well beyond the recognition evening. Timelines are often a concern for organizers. At Mr Trophée, based in Léry in the Montérégie region, production is fast and delivery is available across Canada. You can also choose in-store pickup if you're in the area. Prices are among the most competitive in the country, allowing you to recognize all your volunteers without exceeding your budget. Finally, don't wait until the last minute. Planning your order a few weeks in advance gives you time to personalize each item with care. A well-chosen trophy or plaque is a thank-you that lasts — and one that inspires others to get involved in return.
