A good ID tag can bring a lost pet home within minutes — as long as it's readable, durable and securely attached. Here are our workshop tips for choosing well.
1. A material that lasts
Anodized aluminum is our pick: lightweight (great for cats and small dogs), rust-proof, and its colour won't chip — it's part of the metal itself. Laser engraving cuts into the metal: the text won't fade like printing.
2. The right text, in 4 lines
The essentials: your pet's name and your phone number. Our tags take up to 4 lines — add an address or a note like "microchipped" if needed.
3. A visible shape, securely attached
Pick a shape large enough to stay readable (our dog head and bone designs offer a generous engraving surface) and check the attachment: split ring for the everyday collar, chain on the Élégance bone.
4. A colour you can spot
A bright colour — red, fuchsia, teal — is easy to spot in grass or snow. Glitter finishes add sparkle without hurting engraving readability.
