Trophies and Medals for Basketball Tournaments in Quebec: A Guide for Organizers

Whether your basketball tournament takes place in a school gym, a community centre or a sports complex, the awards are among the most anticipated moments of the day. Well planned, they become a lasting keepsake for players and a great showcase for your organization. Start by defining your categories. Depending on age (mini-basket, bantam, midget, juvenile, adult) and level (recreational or competitive), the number of podiums can add up quickly. Multiply the number of categories by three places, then add the number of players per team: you will get a realistic estimate of how many medals and trophies to order. Next, choose the format according to its role. Trophies are perfect for champion and finalist teams: they photograph well and find a place in the club or school display case. Medals are ideal for recognizing each player on a medal-winning team, since they are personal and are presented around the neck on the podium. For younger players, a participation medal for every child keeps the mood positive and inclusive. Don't forget individual awards: Most Valuable Player (MVP), top scorer, best defender, sportsmanship or tournament all-star team. A trophy or plaque engraved with the player's name recognizes effort and makes the moment even more memorable. When it comes to personalization, laser engraving is perfect for inscribing the tournament name, year, category and rank. Color printing lets you add your organization's logo, your club colors and your sponsors' logos, which gives visibility to those who support your event. Remember to provide high-resolution logos for a crisp result. Plan your timeline too. Ideally, order three to four weeks before the tournament date. Since MVP names are only known after the final games, plan for plaques to be personalized afterward or for a delayed presentation: talk to our team to find the best solution.
